Parents and Families
Welcome parents & families! Thank you for your interest in Fraternity & Sorority Life at Drexel.
Our fraternity and sorority community is composed of students who are dedicated to the spirit of the University and committed to making their college experience unique. Membership in a fraternity or sorority enhances your personal development through a commitment to the ideals of academic excellence, leadership, friendship, and service tot eh community. Fraternities and sororities look for students who share similar goals and values while respecting each student’s individuality. Members of the fraternity and sorority community benefit from membership through the opportunity to work closely with students who have different interests, beliefs and attributes, while forming lifelong friendships.
Drexel fraternity and sorority members lead the campus in academic, philanthropic and leadership opportunities. In addition, they have a community of support that is consistently available for them. Fraternity and sorority members typically achieve higher academic standards than their peers and are members or leaders of many other campus organizations.
Keep in mind that while fraternity & sorority membership is great for some students, it's not for everyone. We encourage you to discuss this decision with your student. Drexel University hosts more than 25 chapters ranging in all sizes. Although all embrace the fraternal values of brotherhood/sisterhood, service, academics, and leadership, each are unique in their own way.
Drexel fraternities and sororities are independently-run organizations that are formally recognized by the University. The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life serves as the central point for most programmatic and administrative functions. The Fraternity & Sorority Life staff is comprised of two full-time professionals who oversee the operations and education of the Greek Community. Feel free to contact us with any questions concerning fraternities and sororities.
