Who can apply?
Any current, full-time Drexel student is eligible to apply. Students are not required to be living on campus during the time application, but are required to have a minimum cumulative and term GPA of 2.5. students also complete all selection requirements for the RAAP (see below).
Where do I go for an application?
Applications are only available online. New RAs, please visit the “New RA Selection Process” link. Returning RAs, please visit the “Returning RAs Selection Process” link. Once the application is started, please submit it at the bottom of the page. The application will not save until it is complete and submitted.
What is the deadline for application?
The deadline for new RA applicants is January 11, 2013 (Week 1) at 12pm.
The deadline for returning RA applicants is December 14, 2013 (End of Finals) at 12pm.
Is there a GPA requirement?
Yes, you must have a cumulative and current term GPA of 2.5 in order to be a RA. First year students will be allowed to apply for the position; however, if they do not meet the GPA requirement during their first term, they will not be allowed to continue in the process. If you are a First year student or a transfer student, there is a drop down box "0 quarters completed" for you to use.
Can I apply if I have a student conduct record?
If you will have an active student conduct sanction or are on disciplinary probation you can apply for the RA position but your conduct record will be a consideration in hiring. You may be asked to do additional assignments during the RAAP.
What is the resident assistant application process (RAAP) class? And, do I have to attend it in order to apply for a RA position?
A large part of the RA selection process is participation in the Resident Assistant Application Process (RAAP) class. The class consists of two class sessions, both two hours long that take place in the winter term during week 4 and week 7. Students will sign up for two Monday sessions, two Tuesday sessions, two Wednesday sessions, or two Thursday sessions, consecutively.
The class is designed for you to learn about the RA position as well as to give you the opportunity to get to know you better. It is a necessary part of the application process. When you complete your application, you will be asked to submit your preferences for when you can participate in the RAAP.
In addition to RAAP class, each candidate must attend a mandatory information meeting at the beginning of winter term.
What if I am on co-op or have a long commute and participating in the RAAP is not an option?
