I've Been Charged - Now What?

If you receive a notice of charge letter, it does not mean you “did something wrong” or that you are automatically in violation of anything.  It does mean your name was on a report and you need to come and share what happened, if anything.

Please schedule an appointment with the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards before the deadline (call 215-895-6074 Monday through Friday 8am-5pm).  You will be meeting with a University Conduct Officer.

If you are on Co-op or have a problem meeting the deadline, call immediately.

Failing to respond may result in a decision made without your participation.  A HOLD may also be placed on your Banner account which will prevent you from getting grades, registering for classes, and graduating.

Meeting with the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards

You will:

  • Have the Conduct process explained
  • Have your rights explained
  • Have the charges explained
  • Have the opportunity to share your side of the story
  • Be given the opportunity to plead “In Violation” or “Not in Violation” to the charges
    • If you plead “In Violation”, the Conduct Officer will discuss sanctions with you.
    • If you plead “Not in Violation”, your charges may be withdrawn or a hearing in front of the Conduct Board may be scheduled.
