Faculty

Science, Technology and Society

Faculty affiliated with Drexel’s Center for Science, Technology and Society conduct leading research at the intersections of environment, health and technology. Cities and regions around the world are looking for ways to increase energy independence and create built environments that mitigate climate change. Faculty investigate environmental topics such as food access, new modes of transportation, emerging energy sources and solutions for critical infrastructures. Health is central to everyone's well-being. Our faculty approach health issues such as who and what drives ongoing policy debates like cost, accessibility and professional training; as well as the cultural contexts that shape participation in health care professions and systems. Computing technology reaches into nearly every corner of our lives. Center faculty focus on the ethics of big data, the relation between nanotechnology and a changing workforce and policies that promote civic engagement with computing technologies.
