Readmission and Add/Drop/Withdrawal Policies

The Higher Education Opportunity Act includes provisions governing the readmission of veterans to institutions of higher education. Review Drexel's Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) policy for more information.

Military personnel seeking a late add/drop/withdrawal due to active duty service should coordinate with their academic advisors accordingly.

About the Veterans Task Force

As part of a concerted effort to enhance our "military-friendly" campus culture, the Provost, Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management, and Dean of Students appointed a Veterans Task Force to prepare the University to do the following:

  • Make veterans' entry into University life as smooth as possible
  • Address veterans' personal and academic needs
  • Take advantage of veterans' life experiences to help educate current, non-military Drexel students.

This cross-campus effort will unify the whole range of support, mentorship, and outreach to best meet the needs of our veteran population.

The task force had its initial meeting during the first week in October. Immediate efforts will include but are not limited to:

  • Assessing Drexel veteran students' unique needs and developing and promoting programs, services, and initiatives specific to these needs.
  • Developing an official welcome program and periodic events to recognize our new and returning veteran students.
  • Alerting Senior Administration to any administrative obstacles preventing the enrollment or retention of military veterans.
