Minor in Education
No matter what you choose as a major or career path, there will be times when you are called upon to train or educate others. To be effective, you need to know how to do more than just deliver information. That is when a minor in education will prove invaluable.
The School of Education offers a minor in the area of education designed for non-education majors interested in learning more about education, earning credits toward teacher certification, or pursuing careers in corporate training or human resource development. All course work listed below are required for the Minor in Education.

EDUC 142 Special Education Foundations: Referral and Assessment (4.5 credits)
EDUC 216 Diversity and Today's Teacher (3 credits)
EDUC 246 Literacy Development (4.5 credits)
EDUC 321 Non-Field Experience Professional Studies in Instruction (3 credits)
EDUC 322 Evaluation of Instruction (4 credits)
EDUC 324 Current Research in Curriculum & Instruction (3 credits)
EDUC 325 Multimedia in Instructional Design (3 credits)
Note: This minor includes a field observation component. All perspective students must obtain background checks and clearances (i.e., FBI, state police, and child abuse) before being accepted into the minor.
