M.S. in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum

US News Badge 2010The Master of Science in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum is designed to provide students with advanced teaching knowledge and skills beyond those required for initial teacher certification. Graduates of the program will be qualified to enhance their current careers in education or pursue additional professional opportunities outside the realm of teaching.

Graduates will be prepared to function on a variety of roles including: instructional leaders both in and beyond the classroom, researchers in local, state, national or international organizations, and professionals in foundations, associations, corporations and private education institutions. The program also provides a strong foundation for doctoral level studies through an emphasis in research.

Program Goals:

Graduates of the M.S. in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum will:

  • Possess advanced knowledge regarding effective instruction in a variety of education settings
  • Attain in-depth understanding of both public and private, non-profit and for-profit, as well as small and large education organizations
  • Demonstrate expertise in developing, analyzing, implementing, and evaluating instructional strategies
  • Exhibit outstanding leadership, organizational, cross cultural, inter-personal and advocacy skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external groups

Students in the M.S. in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum can customize their own concentration or select from the following areas:

  • Instructional technology
  • International education
  • Higher education
