M.S. in Learning Technologies
Demand continues to grow for instructors who understand how to effectively utilize online tools, mobile devices and social networks to teach students and train employees. M.S. in Learning Technologies students may direct their curriculum within the program by choosing one of four concentrations.
The Instructional Design concentration was created to meet the challenges of the dynamic environment of modern instructional design including learning strategies for multiple formats, from the classroom to mobile learning and more.
Instructional Technology Specialist
Students who enroll in the ITS concentration can choose to take the coursework for Pennsylvania Instructional Technologies Specialist certification. The concentration is designed to teach students how to plan, assess, implement and integrate technology into the classroom or business community.
Learning in Game-Based Environments
The concentration in Learning in Game-Based Environments introduces students to the foundation of games for learning, the principles guiding learning theories and instructional design and the role of play in a participatory culture. It prepares students to incorporate educational games in school, educational publishing or corporate training environments.
As the demand for delivery of online courses and training grows, the corresponding need for leadership in these important areas increases. Faculty and students collaborate to develop the managerial skills needed to make full use of the new opportunities in online and distance learning.
