The Office of Equality and Diversity (OED) is responsible for advancing Drexel's commitment to equal opportunity for and non-discriminatory treatment of all members of the University community.
OED ensures that the University fulfills its obligation under the law to prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, identity and expression, national origin, age, disability and veteran status.
OED acts as a resource for faculty, staff, and students and provides education and training on equal opportunity and non-discrimination laws, policies and best practices. The office offers coaching and mediation to resolve conflict in a constructive and proactive manner, and conducts impartial investigations of complaints of discrimination and harassment: recommending corrective or disciplinary action when appropriate.
The Associate Vice President of the Office of Equality and Diversity oversees the University's Intercultural Engagement and Diversity Initiative, which seeks to integrate diversity and intercultural engagement into the fabric of the University.
