Robert Francis, Vice President, University Facilities

Services

  • Oversee the implementation of the University's capital construction master plan to support the academic strategic plan

  • Maintain grounds and athletic/recreational sports facilities

  • Manage the recycling program and sustainable waste reduction initiatives

  • Interior design and space planning services

  • Ensure environmental health and safety standards are being meet with construction projects, properties, and laboratories

  • Provide preventative maintenance and address deferred maintenance

University Facilities is responsible for all planning, design, and construction; plant operations; environmental health and safety; and transportation services for Drexel University's three campuses: University City Main Campus, Center City Hahnemann Campus, and Queen Lane Medical Campus.

The department strives to preserve campus facilities while creating and sustaining an environment that will attract, keep, and support the best and brightest students, faculty, and staff.

Through development and oversight of design and construction guidelines, University Facilities is able to improve the overall aesthetic character and visual unity of Drexel's campuses while meeting academic programmable space needs.

The department provides maintenance services (cleaning, landscaping, utilities, conservation programs, safety and emergency response, preventative maintenance, waste removal, recycling, etc.) as cost effectively as possible, while aiming to implement proven sustainable practices.
