Career Development Workshop Schedule (Graduating Seniors)
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! The SCDC provides a number of valuable services and resources to assist all graduating students with your post-graduation plans. The calendar below highlights critical dates and upcoming special events and workshops.
To assist you with your job search, the SCDC sponsors a robust recruiting program in which hundreds of employers post jobs and conduct interviews both on and off campus. Any graduating student wishing to participate in the Recruiting Program is strongly encouraged to attend a Career Services Orientation Session. These sessions provide an overview of the on-campus recruiting and interviewing process, as well as resources available as you prepare for jobs after graduation.

Workshops Description (these workshops will be scheduled throughout the year, please check back for additional details)
CAREER SERVICE ORIENTATIONS: These invaluable sessions introduce you to all our services for graduating students. We will also cover the specifics regarding our on-campus interviewing program. These sessions are the perfect way to get you started on your path to “Life After Drexel” (this includes the all-important job search!). It’s vital that you know the many ways in which we can help you with this process. Contact Bill Felty at 215-895-6285 or bill.felty@drexel.edu with any questions. You do not need to register for this workshop.
ANSWERING THE TOUGH INTERVIEW QUESTIONS: Learn the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) method of answering behavioral-based questions.
CAREER AND CO-OP OPPORTUNITIES IN NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS: There are many myths associated with non-profit organizations which may be standing in the way of some excellent opportunities. Come learn who these employers are and the wide range of experiences available in the non-profit world. Don’t forget – Drexel is a non-profit organization!
CREATING EFFECTIVE COVER LETTERS: Put your best foot forward by developing a cover letter to attract potential employers.
DEVELOPING YOUR CV: Going abroad? Doing a research co-op? Thinking about grad school? There are many situations that call for a curriculum vitae. Come learn the how to’s of creating a CV (it’s not just a long resume!)
INDEPENDENT JOB SEARCH RESOURCES: This workshop provides an overview of the resources and services provided by the Career Library. Students will learn how to use electronic databases to generate lists of potential employers including those outside of the Philadelphia area!
International JOB SEARCH RESOURCES: This workshop will present an overview of Career Library resources that can be used to identify opportunities abroad. Students will learn how to use library databases to generate lists of potential employers overseas.
OPTIMIZE YOUR JOB SEARCH WITH SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES: More and more companies are reaching out to potential candidates through social networking sites like LinkedIn. Learn how to create a professional page and develop job search leads.
RESUME REPAIR: This event provides intensive feedback that will improve your resume!
SPEED INTERVIEWING: Not sure of your interviewing skills? You’ll be able to interview with experienced professionals and get immediate feedback!
