SCDC Policies & Procedures: Co-op Rankings

Ranking Process

After interviews are completed, employers submit rankings of the students they interviewed. Employer rankings, available to students through SCDConline, display one of the following:

  • Job Offer/Salary Amount
  • Qualified Alternate/Salary Amount
  • No Interest
  • Job Closed by Employer

Ranking involves accepting offers or ranking positions for which you were designated a qualified alternate. While financial remuneration may be important, it should not be the primary factor in job selection.

Ranking and Salaries

At no time are students permitted to negotiate salary with an employer for an online position. The Steinbright Career Development Center (SCDC) takes a strong stand on this policy: students may incur severe consequences for inappropriate actions, including co-operative education probation, a failed work term, and/or expulsion from the co-operative education program.
