Megan Elrath

Prior to joining the Drexel University faculty, Megan Elrath performed various functions for the Steinbright Career Development Center, including working with employers and graduating students for on campus recruitment and preparing co-op students for their work experiences. Before making the transition to higher education, Megan worked as a psychotherapist for three years. Megan has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas Christian University and a Master of Science in Education, concentrating in psychological services, from the University of Pennsylvania. She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge of career development with all of her students.

Mary Ellen Taggart-Ford

Prior to joining Drexel University, Mrs. Ford was an elementary teacher for 14 years. The past 13 years were as part of the faculty at St. Joseph School in Collingdale, PA. For 15 years prior to that she worked at a number of technical and management positions at Colonial Penn Insurance Company. Her last position there was as a Product Manager in the Property/Casualty Marketing Department.

Mrs. Ford has a B.A. in Communication (Radio/TV) from the University of Scranton; an MBA in Marketing from Temple University; and an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Widener University. In addition, she holds a Pennsylvania Teachers’ Certification.

Nicole Gay

Nicole is a former social worker and trainer who has worked in nonprofit organizations for the last 8 years. She is experienced in assessing, designing, delivering and evaluating training and educational programs specifically targeted towards youth and young adult populations.

She has a long-standing commitment to education and believes that good instruction is a balanced blend of knowledge and compassion for others. Within the last five years, Nicole served as a Management Trainer for a large urban University and prior to that she started her own motivational training and product company which has served over 5,000 youths. She is also a self-published author of a motivational guide for teens and has a second book scheduled for release in 2007. Career development, goal-planning, and professional development training are some of the topics that Nicole has had extensive training in and that she enjoys teaching to others.

Nicole holds dual degrees in Communication and English with a minor in philosophy from La Salle University. Currently, she is completing her Masters of Education with a focus on Adult and Organizational Development and anticipates beginning a doctoral program within the next two years.

Marilyn Sobel

Marilyn spent a year and a half as a co-op coordinator before becoming a Co-op 101 instructor.  During that time, in addition to working directly with students, she also led workshops on writing cover letters and searching for jobs independently.  Marilyn also spent ten years as an elementary teacher, with a special focus on teaching writing skills.  Before joining Drexel University, she spent several years at home with her children and worked as a substitute teacher.  Marilyn has a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.A. in Elementary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.  She is currently working on a master’s degree in environmental science.
