CONSIDER DREXEL MASTERS’ STUDENTS
FOR GRADUATE CO-OP OPPORTUNITIES

The Program:
Drexel University allows graduate students to enrich their masters’ studies while simultaneously gaining employment experience related to their career goals.  Second year graduate students can alternate coursework with a six month, salaried, off-campus employment experience through this option. Most students will be available for the summer/fall cycles (last week in June to the end of December). Some students, depending on major, will be available for the fall/winter cycle (near the end of June to the last week in March).

Participating Graduate Co-op Programs:
* M.S., MBA, B.A./M.S., LeBow College of Business
* M.S.I.S. College of Information Science and Technology
* M.S., Engineering , College of Engineering
* M.S., Biomedical Engineering, School of Biomedical Engineering

The Student Profile:
Only students in their final year of the graduate program qualify for experiential learning.  Students accepted into this option are motivated individuals who can adapt to a rapidly paced curriculum as well as the challenges and responsibilities of a practical work experience.  They have demonstrated records of academic achievement and the potential for careers in management.

The Drexel Difference:
Unlike other graduate internship programs, Drexel’s program accommodates your business cycle, not the academic calendar year.  We recognize that seasonal, year-end work and special projects fall at different times for different companies. Positions may be line or staff, specialized management, project related or in ongoing operations.  The program is flexible, it adapts to your needs! Drexel’s Graduate Co-op program can provide you with quality candidates.

The Academic Component:
Also unique to the program is the academic component as it carries academic credit necessary to fulfill masters’ degree requirements.  Throughout the experience, a Drexel faculty member interacts with both the student and the employment supervisor to ensure that a quality work experience is taking place. Based on employer feedback and student deliverables, the student receives a grade for the experience which is calculated into his / her final GPA.

The Invitation:
As the coordinator for the program, I encourage you to take advantage of this unique approach to graduate education.  I will be pleased to assist you in matching our well-qualified candidates to your open positions.  At the same time, your company can enjoy the many benefits of establishing a partnership with Drexel University; an effective and inexpensive way to recruit employees to fill current needs as well as develop a source of trained workers with renowned potential.

The Opportunity:
Drexel’s academic calendar is based on a quarter system of four thirteen week cycles, with new students being available for six month employment opportunities every January, March, June and September. Six to eight weeks before the beginning of each cycle you can be faxed resumes of participating students and you may contact them directly to arrange interviews.
