What Type of Public Transportation is Available around Drexel University?

Drexel University is two blocks from 30th Street Station, which offers all local and regional rail lines – Amtrak, SEPTA, NJ Transit, and ground transportation.   Guests can take Amtrak or NJ Transit to New Jersey or New York City; or they can take a regional rail line to various destinations in the Philadelphia suburbs, New Jersey and Delaware.

There are two different SEPTA subway stops on Drexel’s Main Campus.  The Market-Frankford Line (the blue line) picks up at 34th and Market Streets.  This line goes west towards 69th Street Station and North-East to the Frankford Transportation Center.   The Market-Frankford line also connects to the Broad-Street Line which travels North-South throughout Center City.  The Trolley/Subway Surface Line (Green Line) takes guests from Center City to West Philadelphia.

There are a few bus stops on Drexel’s Main Campus that take commuters to locations around the city.  Click here for more information on bus routes and schedules and Center City Ground Transportation.

How would you recommend getting from the Philadelphia International Airport to Drexel’s Main Campus?

We recommend the following two options:

Take a taxi from the airport to your final destination on Drexel’s campus.  You will be charged a flat rate of $26.25 plus tip (one way) from the airport to Center City/Drexel’s Campus.   For more information on taxi service and ground transportation service providers from the Philadelphia International Airport, click here.

The R1 Airport Regional Rail Line picks up at the pedestrian bridges and commercial roadway (outside the baggage claim area) at the Philadelphia International Airport.  A ticket on the R1 costs $7 one way and it will take approximately 15-20 minutes to get to 30th Street Station.  For more information and train schedules, click here.   From 30th Street Station, we recommend walking or taking a short cab ride to your final destination.
