AJ Drexel Institute for Energy and the Environment Seed Funding Competition
The AJ Drexel Institute for Energy and the Environment (IExE), see www.drexel.edu/iexe, has been formed to drive advances in energy systems, technologies, and policies.
This call for proposals invites Drexel faculty to come together in the design and execution of new research and scholarship projects that enrich the IExE research and scholarship portfolio.
Proposing teams, comprised of at least 2 Drexel faculty members, may submit proposals to establish new collaborations and research and scholarship activities that promise to generate significant research and scholarship outcomes and new extramural funding opportunities. Preference will be given to proposals that include faculty from more than one academic unit, and that describe new research/scholarship collaborations.
Proposals must describe the relevance of the work proposed to the IExE, the project to be undertaken, and the investigators involved, including students and trainees where appropriate. Project budgets may be no greater than $50,000 and project durations no longer than 1 year. Faculty salary support is not permitted as a budget expense. Proposals submitted must be no more than 5 pages long, and must include an additional 1-page budget narrative.
Proposals should be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, as Word or pdf attachments, no later than 11.59 p.m. on February 17th, 2014. The subject line should be IExE Seed Competition.
Following a merit review process that assesses the intellectual merit of the work proposed as well as its likelihood to make valuable contributions to the IExE portfolio, between 5 and 10 projects will be selected for funding.
