ORA Staffing Update and Changes
The Office of Research Administration (ORA) is pleased to announce the promotion of Mui Whetstone to the position of Manager, Post Award Administration. Mui joined ORA a year ago as a Program Administrator with a wealth of post award experience from her tenure at Penn. Along with the Executive Director of Post Award, Patti Groshon, Mui will implement various process improvements in support of ORA’s Post Award team. Please join me in congratulating Mui.
It is with mixed emotions that I share news of the retirements of Marie Scheb and Shella Waters, who were members of the Drexel family for 29 and 14 years, respectively. We wish the best to both of these dedicated professionals as they enter their next phases. We also congratulate Ryan Chaiken as he transitions from his Pre-Award Administrator role to that of a DUCOM Budget Manager. Though we will miss Ryan’s presence in our office, we are glad for the opportunity to continue working with him in his new role.
As a result of inevitable staffing changes and the continued growth of Drexel's research enterprise, we are required to periodically reorganize the assignments of our staff so that we can position ourselves to both accommodate growing research portfolios and provide expanded services. Accordingly, ORA will be adjusting some of the Pre/Post Administrator assignments effective February 18, 2013. You will be notified early next week if your department is impacted, and provided with the contact information of your new pre/post administrator(s). Be assured that we have done everything possible to minimize the number of departments and customers impacted by these adjustments. Also, we are actively working to staff the open positions and will make every effort to ensure the provision of seamless service.
We appreciate your patience through these transitions as we continue our efforts to provide you with the best service possible.
