Exam Policies and Procedures

The Final Examinations Policy is established by the Office of the Provost.

Final Exam Scheduling

A final evaluation, administered in the final exam week, is required for all courses with the exception of laboratory classes. The final exam week varies by term as follows:

  • Fall Quarter – Monday through Saturday
  • Winter Quarter – Monday through Saturday
  • Spring Quarter – Monday through Saturday
  • Summer Quarter – Tuesday through Saturday

Drexel Central posts the final exam schedule no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the 4th week of each respective term. Room assignments are posted by 5:00 p.m. on the Friday of the 5th week of each respective term.

Courses meeting on or after 6:00 p.m., Saturday courses, and part-of-term courses will have their final exam, if applicable, in their regularly assigned classroom during their regularly assigned meeting time as scheduled by the instructor.

Final Exam Relief Procedure

Undergraduate students may occasionally have three or more exams in one day. If this is the case, students may request relief by having special examinations assigned according to the following policy. This request may be made to the Office of the University Registrar at least five days before the examination date. While examinations for undergraduate and graduate level courses are considered in the determination of final examination conflicts, only undergraduate level examinations are eligible to be rescheduled.

  • In the fall and spring terms, the courses with higher course numbers will be asked to give a special exam (MKTG 346 is higher than ACCT 111).
  • In the winter and summer terms, the courses with lower course numbers will be asked to give the special exam (ACCT 111 is lower than MKTG 346).

To request relief, please download the Conflict of Final Exams form [PDF] and email your completed form to exammail@drexel.edu.

Common Midterm Exam Procedures

Select freshman and sophomore level courses have a co-requisite course of EXAM 080, EXAM 081 or EXAM 082. These courses serve as placeholders for the scheduling of common midterm exams outside of normal class hours for large, multiple lecture courses.

The specific dates and room assignments for the exams will be provided to students on the course syllabus.
