Co-Director

Stella L. Volpe, PhD, RD, LDN, FACSM is Professor and Chair of the Department of Nutrition Sciences and Co-Director of the Center for Integrated Nutrition & Performance. She is a nutritionist and exercise physiologist whose primary research is in obesity and diabetes prevention. Dr. Volpe is an adjunct faculty member of the Universita Degli Studi "Tor Vergata", Roma, Italia. Dr. Volpe speaks internationally, nationally, regionally and locally about her research as well as on nutrition and exercise principals to help individuals improve their performance and lifestyles. She is an Associate Editor of the American College of Sports Medicine's Health and Fitness Journal. Dr. Volpe was selected to be Chair-elect of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports, & Nutrition Science Board.

Co-Director

Nyree Dardarian, MS, RD, LDN is Co-Director of the Center for Integrated Nutrition & Performance and Instructor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences at Drexel. She completed her BS in Food and Nutrition from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her MS in Clinical Nutrition from Drexel University. The focal point of her research is metabolism and energy balance. Her research has been presented at the Annual Public Health Association meeting and Exhibition and The Obesity Society annual conference. Most recently, Nyree has been certified in Adult Weight Management by the American Dietetic Association.

Nutrition Educator and Outreach Coordinator

Kianna Richardson is Nutrition Educator and Outreach Coordinator for the Center for Integrated Nutrition & Performance. She earned her BS in Nutrition and Foods from Drexel University in June 2010 and is currently working towards becoming a Registered Dietitian. She has a strong interest and passion for nutrition and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with others to help improve their overall health. Her goal is to reduce the risks and occurrence of diet-related diseases by helping people of all ages and backgrounds achieve improved health, vitality and happiness through diet education.

Graduate Assistant

Abby Duffine is currently a graduate student at Drexel University working for a Masters in Human Nutrition. Abby graduated Magna Cum Laude from Syracuse University in 2008 with a Bachelors in Health and Exercise Science. She lived and worked in Prague, Czech Republic from 2009-2010 where she taught English to Czech students of all ages. She was recently a summer intern at The Food Trust in Philadelphia, PA. Outside of school, Abby enjoys playing golf, skiing, going to concerts and traveling.
