About the Emergency Preparedness Plan Components
Master Plan
The Master Plan is the policy document that establishes procedures and organizational structures for response to an emergency. To supplement this document all campus locations and facilities are required to have site-specific emergency and recovery plans.
Crisis Communication Plan
This plan outlines how Drexel University will communicate effectively during an incident and lesser situations, and how those processes are integrated within the university’s overall emergency management plan.
Evacuation Plan
The Evacuation Plan is intended to provide direction for the safe and orderly evacuation of students, faculty, staff and visitors at various levels of emergency incidents.
Administrative Playbooks
Administrative Playbooks are school or department-specific Emergency Preparedness and Recovery plans. Each Playbook’s contents are in compliance with the Playbook Template. Each plan contains a customized Emergency Bulletin identifying place of refuge and situation-specific behavior. All playbooks, building plans and exercises, accompanied by participants’ critiques, are stored on the Emergency Preparedness proprietary site drexel.edu/duepp. Access is restricted to authorized users from each school or department.
Building Plans or Dragon Books
Dragon Books contain vital building statistics and emergency procedures and are developed by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) in collaboration with Facilities and Environmental Life and Safety. The final versions are stored in three locations: actual building site, DPS library and
