Public Safety Active Shooter Exercise

Wednesday, June 19 at Hagerty Library

The Department of Public Safety will be conducting an Active Shooter Exercise on Wednesday, June 19th from 7am to 1:30pm at W.W. Hagerty Library (3300 Market Street) as part of the University’s emergency preparedness and response initiatives. Hagerty Library will be closed to the campus community and public during the scheduled exercise.

The exercise will include simulations of an active shooter(s) inside the library and will include students and adults who will act as victims. A test of the DrexelALERT system will also be conducted as part of the exercise. Members of the Drexel community should avoid the area and expect an increased police presence and sidewalk closures.

The Philadelphia Police and Fire Departments, University of Pennsylvania Police, American Red Cross and other law enforcement and emergency response organizations have been invited to participate in the exercise.

Help the Department of Public Safety raise awareness of this simulation exercise by sharing this communication with friends and colleagues.
