Ed Spangler brings 22 years of comprehensive law enforcement experience from his service with the Philadelphia Police Department, including an assignment as Commanding Officer of the Philadelphia Police Department's Crime Scene Unit.

Spangler recognized the value of partnering with area universities, initiating and coordinating internship opportunities for college students and offering specialized training by college professors for crime scene technicians.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern University in Organizational Management and an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice. He is a graduate of Northwestern University, School of Police Staff & Command. Ed also obtained a Master's Degree in Homeland Security from Drexel University in 2012.

Spangler is the recipient of the Philadelphia Police Department Heroism Award as well as several other commendations.
