CPP Professor Appointed by WFNJ as Women's Policy Institute Director

Ms. Burke is currently the director of the New Jersey Women’s Policy Institute. The Institute, which is housed in the New Jersey Women’s Fund, trains women from across the State how to navigate Trenton and become advocates in public policy. The program is designed to increase the number of women leaders in New Jersey who are actively involved in shaping and implementing policies that affect the health and well-being of women and girls.
Prior to that she spent eight years with the New Jersey Senate Democratic Office. Most recently, she held the position of Associate Executive Director in charge of research and policy. In that position Ms. Burke supervised all research and policy staff. She also served as staff counsel to the Education and Judiciary committees where she worked on many major pieces of legislation including the School Funding Reform Act.
She also worked as a prosecutor in Philadelphia and on the first Rendell for Governor campaign.
Ms. Burke received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Miami and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Ms. Burke resides in Moorestown, NJ with her husband and has two young boys.
