What is the OUR?
The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) was established in the spring of 2010 to support faculty and students who participate in undergraduate research. The purpose of the OUR is to facilitate the collaboration of faculty and students in research, scholarly work, or creative projects through the expansion and development of existing programs, the creation of innovative opportunities for such collaboration both at and beyond the University, and the integration of a culture of research into the educational experience provided by the University.
The OUR seeks to support the University’s strategic plan goals of enriching the educational experience, promoting a culture of research and scholarship, and promoting a culture of student engagement. These goals are reflected in the OUR’s mission statement and in the programs we support.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Office of Undergraduate Research is to foster student engagement and experiential learning and enrich the educational experience of undergraduate students by promoting research, scholarship, and creative activities through faculty/student mentoring relationships.
