DREXEL UNIVERSITY

The Tuition Exchange is a national scholarship exchange program for eligible dependent children of employees, with members from approximately 580 U.S. colleges and universities.  Drexel will award up to five awards to dependent children From Tuition Exchange Institutions wishing to attend Drexel.

The Tuition Exchange Program is administered by the Office of the Provost and is coordinated with the Office of Enrollment Management to balance imports and exports.

The Drexel Tuition Exchange Program Liaison Officer is Dr. N. John DiNardo, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR DEPENDENTS FROM TUITION EXCHANGE INSTITUTIONS WISHING TO ATTEND DREXEL

Students wishing to attend Drexel University as part of the Tuition Exchange Program must both:

  1. Submit an application for admission to attend Drexel University as first-time full-time freshman in an undergraduate day program by January 15, 2008.

  2. Have the college or university of the eligible parent/guardian submit an application to the Tuition Exchange Program on their behalf. The Drexel University Office of the Provost will then be notified of the certification of the student by the Tuition Exchange Program. For applications during Academic Year 2007-08 for admission to Drexel in Fall 2008, the Drexel University Tuition Exchange Liaison Officer must receive a student’s certification notification by January 15, 2008 to be eligible for consideration.

Scholarship decisions will be mailed no later than April 15, 2008. A student must notify Drexel University’s Office of Enrollment Management of their acceptance no later than May 1, 2008.

In 2008-09, Drexel Tuition Exchange scholarships awards will provide $26,800 per undergraduate academic year in an undergraduate day program. The Drexel University Office of Enrollment Management awards Drexel Tuition Exchange scholarships based on academic performance, extra curricular achievement and any other indicators of the academic strength of prospective students. The scholarships will be available for the 4 years of the quarter system or completion of a baccalaureate degree, which ever comes first. Any additional costs must be covered by the student. Room and board and other Drexel University fees are not covered by the Tuition Exchange Program scholarship. A student who is granted a Tuition Exchange Program scholarship is not eligible for any other scholarships or grants given by Drexel University.

When a student is granted a Tuition Exchange Program scholarship award, the student must maintain status in a full-time, on-campus undergraduate day program, maintain a 3.00 cumulative GPA, and comply in full with the policies and procedures of Drexel University. Tuition Exchange Program scholarship may only be used for full-time day undergraduate matriculation in the following Colleges and Schools of Drexel University: College of Arts and Sciences; LeBow College of Business; College of Engineering; College of Media Arts & Design; Goodwin College of Professional Studies; College of Information Systems and Technology; School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems; School of Education; and College of Nursing and Health Professions (BSN program only). Tuition Exchange Program scholarships are applicable only for the first two full-time undergraduate enrolled years for the BS in Architecture.

Students that hold a Tuition Exchange Program scholarship must be re-certified each year by the exporting institution and must fulfill all the obligations of the Drexel Tuition Exchange Program scholarship.

Drexel University and the Tuition Exchange Program reserve the right to modify or terminate this program at any time.
