New Graduate Student Orientation is divided amongst students whose programs are on the University City campus and students whose programs are on the Center City campus.

University City Campus Orientation Schedule

Students whose programs are housed on the University City Campus only should register for this orientation. Orientation will be held in the Grand Hall, Creese Student Complex Center at 8:00 AM. Please note that registration for this orientation automatically enrolls the student in all three sessions. Registration only offers a choice of which workshop the student wishes to attend for session 2.

Drexel Expo (Mandell Theater) - 8:00 to 10:00 AM

Welcome from Drexel Administrators - 10:00 to 10:30 AM

Your advisor is available to offer you guidance and support throughout your time here at Drexel, not only for academic advice, but for other issues that may affect your academic performance as well. Help your advisor to understand you and what you want and need for your education

Session 1: Advising Workshops - 10:45 to 11:15 AM

Your advisor is available to offer you guidance and support throughout your time here at Drexel, not only for academic advice, but for other issues that may affect your academic performance as well. Help your advisor to understand you and what you want and need for your education

Session 2: Your Choice of Workshop - 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM

Option A: Minority Success Workshop 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM

A workshop to provide programming, services, resources and networking opportunities for new graduate, minority students.

Option B: Books and Bagels 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM

Your peers will present their research topics and their vision of how these accomplishments shape our world socially and technologically followed by a moderated discussion. This event is meant to highlight different disciplines and be a top level introduction to your experience and your research.

Session 3: Fellowships Workshop 2 PM to 3 PM

Fellowship awards are incredibly prestigious and will open doors for you for the rest of your life. Graduate schools and employers are particularly interested in recipients of highly competitive fellowships because they know that such awards signal an applicant’s drive, dedication, and intellectual curiosity.

Center City Campus Orientation Schedule

Students whose programs are housed on the Center City Campus only should register for this orientation. Please note that Orientation is comprised of the three sessions below:

Transportation: You will start your day at University City Main Campus with all the other graduate students. Follow directions for parking on UC campus.

Orientation Check-In

Check-in is at 33rd and Chestnut Streets, University City Campus

Session 1: Transitioning into a Health Professional

Meet the Deans and faculty from the College of Nursing and Health Professions and School of Public Health. They will share with you what they have learned from experience on how to succeed.

Session 2: Graduate Student Panel- 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM

An interactive panel for you to hear experiences and seek information from your peers on a variety of topics. Increase your understanding about the demands of a graduate student living and studying in Philadelphia.

Lunch with Current Graduate Students

Session 3: Explore Center City Drexel Community- 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM

Discover the Center City neighborhood of Philadelphia when you see if for yourself. Student guides will walk you through all the essentials including getting around and navigating the city of Brotherly Love. You will also be able to meet primary contacts for resources and departments on campus such as Advising, IRT, Financial Aid, Student Life and much more.

Graduate Student Social - 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
