Graduation Award Winners

The Office of Graduate Studies is pleased to announce the winners of this year's Outstanding PhD Graduates:

• Best doctoral dissertation (Social Sciences):  Farzin Irani (Psychology, Supervising Professor Douglas Chute)
• Best doctoral dissertations (Mathematical Sciences and Engineering):  Hemang Shah (Electrical and Computer Engineering, Supervising Professor Adam Fontecchio) and Aiguo Zhou (Materials Science and Engineering, Supervising Professors Michel Barsoum and Surya Kalidindi)
• Most Promise in Enhancing Drexel’s Reputation (Social Sciences):  Peter Yeomans (Psychology, Supervising Professors Evan Forman and James Herbert)
• Most Promise in Enhancing Drexel’s Reputation (Mathematical Sciences and Engineering): David Maraldo (Chemical and Biological Engineering, Supervising Professor Raj Mutharasan) and Davide Mattia (Materials Science and Engineering, supervising Professor Yury Gogotsi)
• Most Promise in Enhancing Drexel’s Reputation (Physical and Life Sciences):  Daniel Mollicone (Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems, supervising Professor Banu Onaral)

These awards will be handed out at the Hood Ceremony on Friday, June 13 at 4pm. The Outstanding Master's Graduates - Maria Lucoff and Robert Mayer - were announced at Graduate Student Day on May 8. Highly Commended students were Mark Fink and Maria Sogegian.
