Health Insurance
All full-time Drexel students are required to have health insurance - please read Drexel's Student Health Insurance Policy for specific details. To help students meet this requirement, the university offers a Student Health Insurance Plan. Students intending to apply for a waiver of Drexel's health plan because they have their own health insurance must meet the fall term's Thursday, September 30, 2007 submission deadline. This is managed by the Office of Health Insurance and Immunizations.
To help students manage the cost of Drexel's Student Health Insurance Plan, the Office of Graduate Studies has arranged a plan that will spread payments out over the course of the academic year. To ensure proper deductions, students are eligible only if they have a one year appointment as a teaching, research or graduate assistant. Anyone interested in participating must apply for the payment plan using the Health Insurance Payroll Deduction Form and submitting it with a copy of their offer/appointment letter (demonstrating their position will be for the whole academic year) or their Personnel Action Form; salary/stipend must be mentioned. The application and supporting documentation must be submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies by Friday, October 5, 2007.
