The Drexel Center for Academic Excellence (DCAE) began its operations in August 2005, and since then has been committed to providing services to Drexel faculty that enhance and improve their academic and professional activities.
The DCAE offers specialized programs for faculty who have recently joined the university in order to ease their transition, while at the same time recognizing that the need to deal with new and confounding variables does not disappear as faculty move along in their careers.
DCAE services at the disposal of Drexel faculty include:
- Fall orientation for new faculty
- Year-long series of workshops
- Informal brown bag lunch discussions on emerging professional challenges
- Teaching portfolio and leadership/professional portfolio development sessions with qualified mentors
- Individual and confidential consultations on personal teaching challenges
- Faculty lounge with a variety of current readings on career advancement and teaching and learning issues
- Sponsorship of attendance at professional conferences on teaching and learning for select individuals
- Customized workshops for departments and colleges
If you would like to know more about the Center and the resources it offers, please stop by during its hours of operation, which are Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. The Center's office is located in Room 293 of the Korman Center and the main telephone number is 215-895-4973. You are also encouraged to contact us via e-mail at dcae@drexel.edu.
