The WW Smith Foundation proposal competition has been completed. The proposal "Antagonizing the essential functions of HIV-1 Matrix protein p17" submitted by Dr. Simon Cocklin, Research Assistant Professor, College of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology has been selected to be submitted as a full proposal in the field of HIV research. The proposal “A novel therapeutic agent promising in blocking the skeletal dissemination of prostate cancer cells, ” submitted by Dr. Alessandro Fatatis, Associate Professor, College of Medicine, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, was selected in the area of cancer research.
