Provost Office: Memorandum

To: All Faculty and Staff
From: Dr. N. John Dinardo, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs
Subject: Academic Standing (Probation) Policy Announcement
Date: 18 September 2006

The Office of the Provost is pleased to announce that the Academic Standing (Probation) Policy was approved on July 27, 2006.

To review the Academic Standing Policy, please access:
http://www.drexel.edu/provost/policies/academic_standing.asp

Effective Fall 2006, the new policy will ensure that students maintain the 2.00 graduation standard and will help students make academic progress towards their degree.

The Academic Standing Policy is accompanied by a layered communications strategy that will alert students, faculty and staff of the new policy. The strategy has been designed with students in mind - the following communications will be launched beginning September 20th:

* Notices on the Advisor, Provost, SRC and USGA Websites
* Advertisements featured on the Drexel Information Network (DIN)
* Drexel Official E-mail sent to all students

The communications approach was conceptualized in tandem with the Student Retention Workgroup and is supported by the Undergraduate Student Government Association (USGA). For additional information please contact John DiNardo at dinardo@drexel.edu
