Provost's Office: Memorandum

To: All Faculty
From: Dr. Mark Greenberg, Interim Provost
Subject: Institute on Innovation in Training and Teaching on September 11 and 12
Date: 31 July 2008

Colleagues,

Drexel has long been committed to excellence in teaching, as well as in using technologies to enhance student learning. Our Strategic Plan highlights our commitment to learning more about how our students - the so-called "millennials" - learn and to developing innovative ways of engaging students. In fact, we are assembling a Strategic Task Force on Innovative Teaching & Learning both to explore this subject through research and interaction with national leaders in the field and also to recommend how best to embed mentorship for our faculty in the fabric of the University.

A great way to begin thinking about your teaching is the upcoming Institute on Innovation in Training and Teaching sponsored by our Online Learning Team in IRT that is taking place on September 11th. I have seen the syllabus for this Institute and recommend it highly. I hope you will attend and contribute to this conversation.

Mark Greenberg
Interim Provost
