Subject: John DiNardo Named Vice Provost for Academic Affairs
Date: 05 October 2005
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. N. John DiNardo as Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. John has been serving as Interim Vice Provost since May 2005. I have been extremely impressed with John's abilities and believe he will serve Drexel well in this position.
For those of you who do not know John, he earned his BS in Physics from Drexel in 1975 and a PhD in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982.
After a Postdoctoral Fellowship at IBM Research in Yorktown Heights, NY, he joined the faculty of the Department of Physics in 1984 and began a research program in surface science that has since expanded to nanoscience and biophysics. He is the author of over fifty publications in surface and interface science, teaches at both the graduate and undergraduate level and has been involved in the delivery of the Drexel Engineering Curriculum for several years.
In addition to being a Professor of Physics, John was appointed Associate Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences in July, 2003.
