Subject: Nominations Sought for Outstanding TA Award

The Committee on Teaching Assistant Excellence seeks nominations of outstanding Drexel University teaching assistants. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate teaching assistants for certificates of recognition and monetary awards. Nominations may be sent until May 2, 2007.
Criteria used for consideration of teaching excellence follow. The TA should
- be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the subject matter
- show organizational skills and be prepared when covering course materials
- motivate and encourage students and generally stimulate learning
- be available for individual help
- communicate course material clearly
- use fair and effective evaluation techniques.
Nominations can be directed to Alexis Finger, Chair, Teaching Assistance Excellence Committee at fingerag@drexel.edu or submitted in writing to the English Language Center; Language and Communication Center, Rm. 109.
Please provide the following information about the TA you wish to nominate:
- TA's name
- Course which TA teaches
- Department in which TA teaches
- Your name
- In your opinion, why does this TA surpass others?
Please give specific examples to illustrate why this TA deserves to be named an Outstanding TA. Your comments are essential so please be as informative as possible.
