Congratulations on your admission to Drexel University! We couldn't be more excited for your arrival on campus and will strive to make your transition an enjoyable and rewarding one.
In order to ensure that you are placed into courses for which you are well prepared, Drexel's faculty has developed a set of placement examinations. These examinations reflect the proficiency that is expected of students to be ready for the curriculum presented in the various college level Mathematics, English, Chemistry and Modern Language courses (for a full description of each examination, click on the subject(s) for more information). A series of fact sheets have been developed for the different examinations to help students better understand the processes and purposes associated with placement.
Please note: if you do not complete your placement examination(s) by the deadline specified, your academic advisor will not have an accurate assessment of your academic preparation and will not be able to finalize your schedule for the Fall.
We have developed this Quick-Start Guide to ensure that you are able to access your examinations, that you are technically prepared to sit for your examinations and finally to determine which tests you are required to take. You may also take a moment to read the Top Frequently Asked Questions and fact sheets about placement examinations.

Transfer Students (top)
Transfer students will be contacted by their college/school regarding any placement examination requirement(s).
Students Who Have Completed AP/CLEP Examinations (top)
Those students who have taken AP and/or CLEP examination(s) through ETS are still required to take Drexel's placement examination(s) for scheduling purposes. Once AP/CLEP scores are provided to the University by ETS - often after the scheduling deadline - adjustments to a student's schedule will be made by his or her academic advisor.
Students with Disabilities (top)
If you are requesting accommodations on the placement examination(s) due to a disability, you must register with the Office of Disability Services (ODS) prior to receiving the testing accommodations. During the registration process, students must provide the necessary medical documentation to ODS. Students should plan to register as soon as possible, as the process may take some time. The Office of Disability Services can be contacted at 215.895.1401 (V); 215.895.1402 (F); 215.895.2299 (TTY); or via e-mail at disability@drexel.edu.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for taking your placement examination(s) on time.
We look forward to seeing you at New Student Orientation and anticipate your arrival in the fall!
