About the Office

Office of Academic Advising, Retention and Diversity

The Office of Academic Advising, Retention and Diversity is pleased to support the activity of our colleagues to ensure that  Drexel’s undergraduate students are provided the guidance and resources they need to engage fully in University, departmental and programmatic offerings.  Together with academic advisors, career counselors, administrative and support service providers we aim to create a more seamless undergraduate experience by identifying challenges to student’s ultimate success and with our peers, provide the tactical support needed to address them. In conjunction with Drexel’s colleges and schools, we are developing and standardizing practices and programs that promote excellence in advising and mentoring, as well as serve individual student needs.

Our office has also developed initiatives that are designed to promote a standard of excellence – which is important as university stakeholders undertake to grow the interests and leadership of our undergraduates.  Students’ excellence and leadership, are values that are furthered by the University’s rich diversity of students.  We recognize the importance of students’ preparation and also the considerable significance of their own attributes and experiences in contributing to their ultimate success and the vitality of the institution.  These styles are so important to the dialogue, critical thinking and problem solving that promote learning and engagement both inside and outside the classroom.
