AARD Diversity Programs
Pennsylvania Higher Education Equal Opportunity Program (also known as Act 101) was created through action of the Pennsylvania legislature in 1971 in response to the needs of academically and financially disadvantaged Pennsylvania residents who were effectively denied the opportunity to pursue a higher education due to prevailing social conditions.
Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation
The Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) is part of a national effort to increase the number of underrepresented minority (URM) students who successfully complete baccalaureate and advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Funding for the LSAMP program is provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
- Bridge to the Doctorate
The BTD Fellowship program, also funded by the National Science Foundation, provides support for graduate students from underrepresented populations who are pursuing doctoral degrees in STEM disciplines.

The Office of Equality and Diversity offers resources for sustaining a living, learning, and working environment of diversity, equality, fairness, inclusion, and respect.
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) promotes meaningful interaction between United States Citizens and nationals of other countries, while offering:
- Counseling for International students
- Academic Referrals for International students
The English Language Center (ELC) offers support services for International students, emphasizing intercultural understanding and cooperation.
