As Drexel has become one of the nation’s most successful comprehensive research universities, our mission has remained constant: to serve our students and society through outstanding academics, innovative technology and experiential learning.

Strong and visionary leadership has been the cornerstone of Drexel’s success since 1891. Founder Anthony J. Drexel outlined an ethos of practical, forward-thinking higher education made widely available that still guides today’s University. Under great leadership, Drexel has grown from Mr. Drexel’s Institute of Art, Science and Industry to the Drexel Institute of Technology to Drexel University.
