John A. Fry Named Drexel's 14th President

Today is a historic and exciting day for Drexel University. After a unanimous vote by our Board of Trustees, John A. Fry has been selected as our University's 14th president. On behalf of our students, faculty, staff, alumni and trustees, I welcome President Fry to Drexel.

During a career dedicated to higher education, President Fry has demonstrated his ability to bring out the best in an institution while cultivating positive relationships with the larger community. His impressive record of achievement at both Franklin & Marshall College and the University of Pennsylvania is a measure of his leadership and ability to take Drexel successfully into the future.

I would like to thank the members of the presidential search committee for their hard work throughout our nationwide search for Drexel's 14th president, my fellow trustees for their assistance with the search process and the Drexel community for the input and feedback they offered via our presidential search Web site.

Please join me in recognizing and thanking President C.R. "Chuck" Pennoni '63, '66, Hon. '92 who once again answered the call by serving as Drexel's interim president. Chuck's dedication to our alma mater is unmatched and I thank him for serving with great distinction as interim president for a second time.

President Fry will join Drexel on August 1. View the news release announcing his appointment.
