Message from the Interim Department Head
Welcome to the Department of Physics at Drexel University. We offer an outstanding education and cutting edge research to our undergraduate and graduate students.
Our Faculty members lead world-class research programs concentrated on key areas of Physics: Astrophysics, Biophysics, Nonlinear Dynamics, Condensed Matter, and Particle Physics.
Our researchers are involved in collaborations such as Double Chooz Neutrino Experiment,
Kamioka Liquid-scintillator Anti-Neutrino Detector (KamLAND),
Deep Underground Science and Engineering Lab (DUSEL),
Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS),
Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST), and
Meta Institute for Computational Astrophysics (MICA), among others.
Our department conducts a broad array of outreach activities such as the Kaczmarczik Lecture Series, public observation nights at the Lynch Observatory, and physics demonstrations in grade school classrooms which are performed by the Drexel Chapter of the Society of Physics Students.
We invite you to explore our website to discover for yourself how the study of physics can be fascinating, challenging, and rewarding.
