Dr. Patricia Shewokis, Prosthetics Lead Researcher at Drexel
Philadelphia, PA, September 19, 2011 — Efforts to bring the brain in the loop for direct control of prosthetic limbs, through a collaboration between researchers at Drexel, Rice University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Maryland, were featured in a story on WHYY-TV’s “First” program on September 9, 2011 and on WHYY-FM’s “Newsworks Tonight” on September 19.
The lead researcher at Drexel is Dr. Patricia Shewokis, a professor in the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences Department in the College of Nursing and Health Professions, who has a joint appointment in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems (BIOMED).
