Application Deadlines
Applications and all transcripts should be received at least six weeks prior to the start of the desired term of enrollment. Admission is on a rolling basis. Refer to the Academic Calendar for term start dates.
You should also submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by these dates. Remember to use Drexel's FAFSA school code: 003256. Please note that non-matriculated students are not eligible for state or federal funding.

Drexel University's Admission Application
You may only submit one application. To expedite the application process, please write your full name (no nicknames, please) on all items submitted. Your Social Security number is also required to be considered for financial aid. If you need to change your major after submitting your application, please contact the Office of Admissions or call 215.895.2400.
Official transcripts are required and must be sent directly to Drexel from all colleges and universities that you've attended. Transcripts should include all courses in progress. If you have completed fewer than 24 semester credits at the time of application, you should also submit an official copy of your high school transcript.
Applicants with international coursework are required to submit an official academic record (with notarized English translation) from every secondary or postsecondary school attended. A transcript is official only when it is sent directly from an institution to Admission, or when it is officially signed, stamped in color, and sealed.
Non-degree/non-matriculated applicants are not required to submit transcripts, but are required to have a high school diploma or GED equivalency. International students must provide a copy of their I-20 from their current U.S. institution to enroll as a non-degree student.
If you have taken fewer than 24 semester credits at another regionally accredited institution, SAT or ACT scores are optional but not required. International applicants whose first language is not English are required to submit TOEFL, IELTS, DUOLINGO, or PTE scores. Test scores are valid up to two years from the test date. Some students may be eligible for a TOEFL/IELTS/DUOLINGO/PTE waiver. Please contact the admissions office for further information.
All students should use the following codes to send score reports to Drexel: SAT and TOEFL: 2194 or ACT: 3556.
You do not need to wait to be accepted to apply for financial aid. To be considered for need-based financial aid, you'll need to file the FAFSA. You can complete the form online at studentaid.gov; be sure to list Drexel's FAFSA school code: 003256. The FAFSA can be started as early as October 1; however, for full financial aid consideration, you should file by February 15. Please note that non-matriculated students are not eligible for state or federal funding.
Part-time evening architecture applicants must submit a writing supplement. Please write a short essay describing why you are interested in pursuing your major of choice at Drexel University's Westphal College. What have you done that prepares you to study in your major of choice? (Maximum 500 words.) You may submit the writing supplement with your application or through Discover Drexel after you submit your application.

Part-time evening architecture applicants must submit portfolio materials through SlideRoom. All work submitted becomes part of the application and will not be returned.
Applicants are encouraged to follow the portfolio guidelines carefully and submit materials that strengthen their application. Portfolios may include traditional media, alternative creative practices, or any combination of the two.
The Admission Committee is examining your work for originality, creative problem solving, and systematic thinking. You should submit 8 to 12 pieces of your strongest and most recent work in a breadth of media that demonstrate a balance of technique and concept. Thematic work or a series of pieces is received favorably. Time-based portfolios should be limited to a 5-minute maximum. Writers, please submit a minimum of 8 to 12 pages of written work of either a single piece or numerous smaller pieces.
The portfolio may include any combination of drawings, paintings, printmaking, photography, graphic design, architectural design, interior design, ceramics, sculpture, fiber art, fashion design, jewelry and metals, furniture, designed objects, animation, computer-generated images, film, video, performance art, audio recordings, websites, video games, sketchbooks, scripts, storyboards, or screenplays.
In addition to or instead of submitting a traditional portfolio, you may submit alternative creative practices where appropriate to your major of choice. For example, a research-based paper or project, video blogging, online curation, a proposal for a video game, examining and redesigning an existing product or interior, a narrative outline for a short script or interactive design, or an observational essay of curatorial practice in a museum gallery or public space may inform certain majors.
The portfolio must be completed in SlideRoom only.
Dance certificate applicants are required to submit a copy of their résumé or CV outlining professional experience. This program is only open to applicants with significant professional experience in the field. Applicants not meeting this criterion may be eligible for our full-time program of study.
The College of Engineering offers three undergraduate Construction Management Certificates. To be eligible for these certificates, applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Each level of these certificates also requires completion of all previous level certificates, as noted below.

Applications for part-time applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Check Your Application Status Online
During the admission process, you'll have the opportunity to check your admission status online. Once your application has been processed, you'll receive access to Discover Drexel using your email address and password created during the application submission.

Admission Decision Appeals
An applicant who has been denied admission to the University may appeal. Reversal on a decision is rare and, if considered, is done based on changes in the applicant's academic criteria or personal circumstances that could not be considered adequately through the standard admission review process.
An applicant appealing a decision should compose a letter to the Academic Appeal Chairperson stating the reason for the appeal and provide updated documentation. The appeal should be clear and concise, and provide new information. Your letter should not repeat information already presented in your initial application. The appeal should be emailed to the attention of the Academic Appeal Committee Chairperson at enroll@drexel.edu.
Notification of the decision of the committee is final and will be made known to the applicant via Discover Drexel within two to three weeks.
Transfer of College Coursework
Drexel may grant you credit for courses completed at a college or university that is either regionally accredited or a recognized candidate for accreditation according to the Association of Colleges and Schools/Commission of Higher Education.
To receive transfer credit for courses completed at another institution, the courses must be substantially equivalent to courses offered in the desired curriculum at Drexel and you must have completed the courses with a grade of C (C=2.0) or better. The number of credits and course equivalencies will be determined by your department once you've been accepted.
