Registering with the Office of Disability Services

People who have disabilities and are requesting auxiliary aids, academic adjustments, and services need to register with the Office of Disability Services (ODS) for the receipt of accommodations. The first step in the registration process is to submit medical documentation to the ODS. Upon receipt of the medical documentation, the person who has a disability is invited to schedule a meeting with an ODS staff member. During the meeting with the ODS staff, an intake and discussion of individual needs, requirements, and policies and procedures will occur. Documentation requirements are available at ODS, or can be found at: Documentation Requirements.

If prospective students and applicants are not registered with ODS and need to request accommodations and services in order to participate in Drexel University’s programs and activities, requests need to be submitted to ODS in a timely fashion. Campus guests with disabilities are strongly encouraged to contact ODS as far in advance as possible. If ODS receives a late request from campus guests, ODS cannot assure it will secure the accommodation.

Deaf or Hard of Hearing Registration

People who are deaf or hard of hearing must register with the Office of Disability Services (ODS) for the receipt of auxiliary aids, accommodations, and services. The first step in the registration process is to meet with a member of ODS for an Intake Appointment. During the Intake appointment, professional staff will  discuss individual needs, documentation requirements, and policies and procedures. Documentation requirements are available from the ODS, or can be found at: Documentation Requirements.

When the nature and severity of the sensory impairment varies over time, it may be necessary to provide current documentation each term. ODS will communicate the need for documentation and will determine currency.

Prospective students who are not registered with ODS and need to request a service provider in order to participate in the exploration of Drexel University as a college choice, need to complete the appropriate Service Provider Request form, located at: Service Provider Request Form, and submit it to ODS in a timely fashion.
