Grievance Policy
In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (1973), the Americans with Disabilities Act (1990), Drexel University’s policy on nondiscrimination, and appropriate legislation, the University is committed to equal access for people with disabilities in its programs and activities. The Office of Disability Services (ODS) encourages students, faculty, staff, and employers to work collaboratively to resolve matters in a prompt manner. The grievance policy and procedure provides an opportunity for campus members to resolve complaints alleging the denial of reasonable accommodations due to a disability promptly.
If a person with a disability alleges the denial of reasonable accommodations by Drexel University, a complaint must be filed within 180 days of the alleged denial with the 504/ADA Compliance, unless extensions for good cause are provided. Retaliation against any person who files a complaint with the 504/ADA Compliance Officer or participates in the investigation is prohibited under University policy and other applicable legislation.
When accommodations due to disability are recommended by the ODS and students, faculty, and staff with disabilities are alleging the denial of accommodations, the accommodation is provided until the grievance process concludes.
