Responsibilities of Recognized Student Organizations

Recognized student organizations at Drexel University are to assume and accept the following responsibilities:

  1. Accept responsibility for the supervision of all programs sponsored by the organization.
  2. Accept responsibility for the safe operation of all programs.
  3. Accept responsibility for reimbursing Drexel University for damage to University-owned property or facilities, including items such as cleanup costs, damaged property, or other contingencies related to the utilization of the facility.
  4. Assure that all promotion and advertisement of events involving the use of University facilities shall identify the group sponsoring the event.
  5. Maintain active and up-to-date files (membership information, constitution, and related recognition materials).
  6. Maintain the non-profit volunteer status of the student organization.
  7. Ensure that all activities of the organization comply with all University policies and procedures as defined in the Drexel University Student Handbook and the Office of Campus Activities Student Organization Policies and Procedures Manual, as well as organizational, local, state, national laws, and, if applicable, the Drexel University Sports Club Manual.
  8. Officers to the Student Organization Orientation and Training session sponsored by the Office of Campus Activities.
  9. All members and officers of the student organization must be currently and actively enrolled Drexel University students. All members choosing to affiliate themselves, agree to follow all applicable organizational, University, local, state and federal rules and regulations.
  10. All Presidents and Treasures must be currently and actively enrolled full-time students in good academic standing.
  11. Agree to a membership that is open to all students who meet the organization's prescribed membership criteria without regard to race, religion, national origin, gender (except as permitted by law), sexual orientation, or ability.
  12. All standards and requirements of the recognition process for the specific organization type.
