Student Testimonies:

“I strongly believe that the CEO Program is beneficial to all Drexel students . It offers new student leaders the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, and it allows veteran leaders to hone and improve their leadership skills.

One of the greatest aspects of this program is that the sessions are presented by Drexel student leaders, Student Life staff, faculty, and executives from the corporate world. As a result, I was able to see these sessions presented from very different perspectives, as well as get a glimpse of how they are applied in different types of organizations. Attending these programs has helped me learn new skills , as well as confirm some of the styles of leadership I already use.

The skills that I gained from this program are not limited for use at Drexel, but instead, they are lifelong skills that I will continue to use once I leave Drexel and enter the real world . It's a program that I highly recommend for all students whether or not they are involved in student organizations .”

"CEO programs are great for students who are looking to get more out oftheir Drexel experience , not only are the topics interesting, but the networking opportunities the workshops present have also been a great by product of the program."

"I've attended quite a few CEO events and can honestly say I always leave either learning something new about the topic presented, or was able to see how other leaders utilize various leadership skills in their organizations, and how I can apply them to better my personal skills as well as the organizations I am involved in .. it is a great forum to exchange ideas and opinions. "The CEO Program provides students an excellent opportunity to explore their own capabilities while, at the same time, learning how to reach their potential. I encourage anyone who has spare time in the evenings to reap the benefits of these workshops."

“The CEO program is a great program for two people. People who want to experience their leadership quality and life skills and for people who are officers in campus organizations .

The CEO program is great for emerging leaders . There are many workshops that are geared toward bringing out the leader in all of us. WE ARE ALL LEADERS IN OUR OWN WAY. Workshops such as “Interpersonal Leadership Skills” helps us see what kind of leaders we are and ways that we can improve on certain skills in leadership as well as help determine what kind of leader we want to be. There are a plethora of workshops for emerging leaders that will bring many benefits to them when they apply these lessons in their academic life, extracurricular life as well as on their internship/co-op or career. The knowledge you learn from this workshop when applied to your life will bring many great results.

The CEO program is also great for officers in campus organizations . In fact, it should be strongly encouraged, almost to the limit of requirement, for campus organization leaders to participate in these workshops and work to achieve certification. Student organization leaders learn many skills that they can apply to a variety of characteristics in an organization. Leaders can run exciting and effective meetings by attending the “Running Fun and Effective Meetings” hosted by Ann Wilson . This is a great workshop tailored toward teaching ways to run better meetings as well as leaders working together in groups to brainstorm better ways to run better meetings. Another workshop that student leaders should attend is “Organizational Dynamics.” Dan Simmons did a great job with this workshop and has shared many experiences he has in his career at this workshop. Student leaders should STRONGLY attend this workshop where they will learn how to better have your members involved in the organization. Topics such as effective delegation, supervision, managing task, and dealing with conflict are all discussed and applied in this session. In fact , I would STRONGLY recommend and encourage student organization leaders to earn the “Organizational Leadership Certificate” offered in the CEO program .

Honestly, I have gained quite many skills and learned some great lessons while attending these CEO workshops . I have seen myself become a better and more effective leader at school, extracurricular activities, co-op and in life . Irecommend these workshops for everyone. Thank you.

"The CEO program was a fantastic compliment to my education . I took away a great deal of best practices and techniques and shared them with the student organizations I was in charge of. The topics are specifically targeted to students and contain the latest and greatest information from the top business leaders in our area.

Whether you are running a student organization, planning on starting your own business, or simply interested in developing yourself both personally and professionally ...the CEO programs are something you can't afford to miss. "

It's fun and informative , and a leadership certificate is a good thing to put on a resume . There were lots of things I learned, but I think the best one was at the Time Management workshop where we learned how to put everything we need to do into four boxes: important and urgent, not important and urgent, important and not urgent, and not urgent and not important. I also like her quotes because I like to collect quotes. … you do an excellent job with the CEO Program. Keep up the great work!”

The following is a letter sent to one of the corporate presenters

Joe Doughherty,
I wanted to thank you for your absolutely wonderful presentation on career planning. It was certainly an inspiring, motivational speech that encouraged me to get myself out there to sell myself in the competitive marketplace in a way that I have never thought of before. You've opened up my mind to opportunities that are out there in the open that are just waiting for me seize them. Because this was the first CEO workshop that I have attended, it certainly exceeded my expectations and gave me a good impression of what's to come in the CEO workshops ahead that I plan to attend. Sometimes I even have doubts that I will hear another speaker give a speech that was as inspiring and motivational as yours. I realize coming up to you to introduce myself, shake hands, and share my comments with you would have been a much better impression and more courteous. However, seeing that you became the most popular man in the room, I had time constraints that did not allow me to do so. On the other hand, listening to your speech makes me value my Drexel education more than I have before . Once again, I sincerely thank you for your generosity and passion for teaching us how to get that competitive edge, which I will certainly treasure for the rest of my future. I also want to thank you for being so open to helping us in our career development, as I will most certainly keep your card for future contact. I know if I am ever in the position where I need help, your name will be on the top of my list of who to go to.

Sincerely,
Michael Chau

"Too often I see new people enter the work force unprepared for assuming leadership roles.  They clearly have the foundation as well as the potential.  The CEO Program gives students that 'leg up'  that assists them in 1) getting the right job through an awareness of leadership elements and 2) contributing faster in their new role by seizing leadership opportunities sooner."

“Being a Drexel Alum, I have been on both sides of the room and can honestly say The CEO program offers an excellent opportunity for students to get a "real world" prospective from professionals in various industries as well as learning intricacies that the classrooms do not teach.”
