Jen Aquilante
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Jen was promoted to a Program Coordinator in January 2008 and provides supervision to other educators. Jen is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a B.S. degree in Dietetics. Jen was raised in Phoenixville, a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she attended St. Pius X High School. Jen completed a dietetic internship at Virginia Tech and became a Registered Dietitian in 2001. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Health at Drexel University.
Jen is partnering this school year with four schools within the School District of Philadelphia. They are Lincoln High School, Northeast High School, Germantown High School and the ELECT Program at CEP Miller. Jen enjoys teaching the “Rethink Your Drink” lesson as she believes it has the most significant impact on the students! Her favorite fruit is a banana especially with peanut butter! She enjoys reading, working out, listening to music, going to movies and concerts, traveling and eating healthy, of course!
Jen worked with other educators this summer, getting our lesson plans ready for this school year and also had some fun talking about good nutrition and healthy eating with campers from the Sunrise Summer Camp held at Bok High School. Take a look at some of the pictures that were taken in the classrooms!
