  • Celebrating the Dragons of the Future

    ​If you are a Drexel alum and you have a relative also graduating from Drexel this June,  the Drexel Alumni Association has a special offer for you. In Chinese tradition, a red envelope is a special gift given by elders to represent luck. The association has a special red envelope gift for the Class of 2012. If you are a Drexel alum with a graduating relative, contact the association to receive a red envelope containing a commemorative Year of the Dragon pin. You can give it to your graduating student to commemorate your Drexel Legacy connection and so they'll always remember that they became a Drexel graduate during the Year of the Dragon.​

  • Call for Research Study Participants

    If you are an adult who experiences anxiety in public speaking situations and you live in the greater Philadelphia area, contact the Drexel University Anxiety Treatment Program at drexel.public.speaking@gmail.com to learn if you are eligible for our free program for managing public speaking anxiety. Drexel is running a research study examining two anxiety-management strategies for adults (ages 18-50) suffering from public speaking anxiety. Study participation includes one 90-minute anxiety-management session and two study assessments over three hours. Individuals will be compensated up to $50 for completed participation.

  • DASP Seeking Students to Serve as Peer Mentors

    ​The Drexel Autism Support Program (DASP) is recruiting students to serve as peer mentors to Drexel students with an Autism Spectrum Diagnosis. For students interested in gaining volunteer experience working one-on-one with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, contact DASP@drexel.edu. Participants must attend three training sessions before the start of the program and also be willing to commit to the peer mentoring program for the Summer 2012 term.​

  • New Healthy Grocery Store (on wheels) Coming to Lancaster Avenue

    ​On April 25, Lancaster Avenue will be home to the new West Philadelphia Fresh Food Hub. A partnership between Preston's Paradise, Greensgrow Farms, the People's Emergency Center and Drexel, the Fresh Food Hub is a non-profit locally-owned project bringing high-quality, affordable produce and grocery items to West Philadelphia. This customized market truck will be regularly parked at 37th Street and Lancaster Avenue four days a week from April 25 through November, and will also make stops at the Durham Free Library in Mantua, as well as several senior housing agencies. Hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from noon till 6 p.m., and Saturdays from noon until 3 p.m.

    - Farm to Families local produce boxes

    - A local foods buying club for grains, nuts, and prepared items
