Law School Faculty Members Contribute to Top Legal Blogs Chosen by the ABA Journal

PHILADELPHIA, November 30, 2010

Editors of the ABA Journal today announced they have selected The Faculty Lounge, Feminist Law Professors, the Situationist and SCOTUSblog among the top 100 best law blogs by lawyers, for lawyers. Readers are invited to vote on their favorites in each of the 4th Annual Blawg 100’s 12 categories. The Faculty Lounge, Feminist Law Professors and the Situationist are in the category, “Law Prof Plus,” which covers blogs in the legal academy. SCOTUSblog was nominated the “Court Watch” category. This is the second consecutive year the publication’s editors named The Faculty Lounge as a top legal blog. Launched and authored by Professor Daniel M. Filler, the senior associate dean of academic and faculty affairs, the blog features observations about law, culture and academia. According to the ABA Journal, “The authors know their stuff, but posts are devoid of legalspeak and instead are inviting and conversational. Grab a chair, sit back and enjoy the banter about legal academic and the musings of the lounge’s 10 primary contributors and their guests.” Professors David S. Cohen and Anil Kalhan have been contributors to Feminist Law Professors, and Professor Adam Benforado is a contributor to the Situationist. SCOTUSblog, described as “the one-stop shop for news and expert analysis of all things U.S. Supreme Court,” features material by Professor Lisa McElroy, who writes the “Plain English” column. In July, the American Bar Association conferred a Silver Gavel Award on SCOTUSblog, specifically praising the “Plain English” column for widening the blog’s appeal to students, the news media and the public at large.
