From the ‘Hottest’ to the ‘Dumpiest’: Drexel Students to Display Their Rides at Commuter Car Show

What: Drexel University’s commuter students will show off their wheels on campus at the third annual Commuter Car Show. They’ll compete for prizes in a range of categories — “hottest,” “dumpiest,” “modified” (upgrades) and “most spirited” (school spirit).
• More than 20 cars and bikes on display in the competition
• Winners receiving gifts such as a free Drexel parking space for one academic term
• Mario The Magnificent, Drexel’s dragon mascot, checking out the action
• Live bands keeping the energy level high
Wednesday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Peak time: 1 to 2 p.m. (winners announced at 2 p.m.)
Rain date: Wednesday, May 21, (call 215-895-2705 for event information)
Where: Outside Drexel’s Daskalakis Athletic Center, 33rd and Market streets
Who: Cars and bicycles will be judged by Dr. David Ruth, Drexel’s dean of students; Stacey Rose, a senior and student government’s commuter representative; and Drexel Commuters and Drexel Racing members.
