The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship recently selected three Drexel University College of Medicine students as Greater Philadelphia Schweitzer Fellows for 2012-13. Phoebe Dacha, Alicia Howard, and Ashley Stephens will join approximately 240 other Schweitzer Fellows from across the country in conceptualizing and carrying out service projects that address the unmet health needs of underserved individuals and communities.

Drexel University researchers have found that the climate conditions at a major leatherback turtle nesting beach affects the early survival of turtle eggs and hatchlings. They predict, based on projections from multiple models, that egg and hatchling survival will drop by half in the next 100 years as a result of global climate change.

Involvio, a new website and app developed by a group of Drexel students led by Ari Winkleman, a senior graduating in June from Drexel’s LeBow College of Business, not only makes it possible for students to view all events on campus at any particular time, but—as an added bonus—enables students to link Involvio directly with their Facebook accounts to see how many of their friends are attending each event.
